Today was my second to last day of research. I feel like I've done almost enough research for exhibition. Here are some of the notes I took. -Greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere. -Investments in fossil fuels continues to be higher than investments in climate action and stopping air pollution. Today I also started writing my questions for the survey on air pollution that im going to make. I had some trouble making them but I came up with some questions that i think are decent. I also started to make my infographic on this app called Canva. I'm still trying to figure out how to use it, but so far it's been working pretty well for me. Today I also started experimenting with art. I looked online for inspiration for what to do and made this artwork. It's not done and it's not the best but it's something. I'm just experimenting.
OK, that's all for now bye!

This week was one of the best and one of the weirdest weeks so far. This week wasn't the busiest week, but I still got a decent amount of work done. I feel pretty happy with how I worked this week. But I still need to improve on some things, Such as organization. I'm not very good at being organized, but next week, I'll try to improve. This week was also the main research week, so I researched a ton and took lots of notes. Here are some of the best ones I wrote: -A direct effect of air pollution global warming. Greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere and warms up the earth .-Harmful gases are released into the atmosphere during the burning of fossil fuels. When it rains, the water combine with these air pollutants becomes acidic and then falls on the ground as acid rain. -bad outdoor air caused about 4.2 million premature deaths in 2016.-Air pollution has been linked to higher rates of cancer, heart disease, stroke, and respiratory diseases like asthma. -Inhaling air pollution takes away at least 1-2 years of a typical humans life. -It has effects as small as burning eyes and itchy throat to as large as breathing problems and death. However, even with all the research I've done, I still have some questions, Here some of them.
- Why do greenhouse gases trap heat in the air but other gases don't? - Does air pollution affect plants? Through this week, I gained some skills. The most important skill I learned this week is communication. Even though most of the week I was at home due to corona virus I still learned how to communicate through calls, texts and email. However, this week wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. I had some challenges such as, finding primary resources and writing blogs everyday. But, I still had some good times. My favorite part of this week was art I loved looking at art for inspiration and making some art. That's all for this week! Bye! Today was our second day of virtual learning. I’m starting to get used to it. The main thing I did today was get continue my research. Here's some of the notes I took today. -bad outdoor air caused about 4.2 million premature deaths in 2016 .-Air pollution has been linked to higher rates of cancer, heart disease, stroke, and respiratory diseases like asthma. -Inhaling air pollution takes away at least 1-2 years of a typical humans life. -It has effects as small as burning eyes and itchy throat to as large as breathing problems and death And here’s a video I watched on one of the effects of Air pollution, acid rain. I thought it was a great video and I learned a lot from it.
Today I also had a meeting with Ms. Kesler to talk about how exhibition is going for me. The meeting went pretty well, we discussed my note-taking, the math component, how I'm going to get primary sources and how I’m going to present. I’ve decided for my math component that I'm going to be doing an Infographic. For my primary source I’m going to be making a survey, Ms. Kesler suggested that I work with Danisha, that is also doing air pollution to make my survey. So I might work with her. I'm not exactly sure how I'll present my exhibition but I think I might do a video of some sort. That's all the exhibition stuff I did today! Bye!👋 Today wasn't a normal day. Nobody went to school because of the coronavirus. So today was our first day of virtual school! We had yesterday off so I actually thought that there was going to be no school at all in any form for the whole two weeks that school’s canceled. But then I was informed about virtual school. It's very different from normal school and it will take a long time for me to get used to. I had to do all my work online and post it on seesaw. Anyways, I actually got a decent amount of work done today. The first thing I did was pick an artwork that was related to my topic. Here's the ones that I picked.
Then the rest of the day the only exhibition-related thing I did was more research on air pollution. Here are some notes that I took.
That's all, Bye!
Today I didn't do much, in the morning, Mr. Bowo taught us how to email our on outlook. I used it to schedule my first meeting with my mentor. It worked really well. Later, we discussed how we would do our math component for exhibition with Ms. Kesler. She gave us some ideas for math component and showed us some examples from other kids who have done it. I think I might make an infographic for my math component. After that, Ms. Kesler had a meeting with me. In that meeting, we discussed how I can improve my lines of inquiry and central idea. After I changed them, I got them approved. We also discussed how my note-taking is going and how I'm going to do my math component. The rest of the day I just proceeded with my research on air pollution. Here's one of the videos I watched for research. I’m getting pretty close to the end of my research, I think I will finish it by the end of the week.
Ok, that's all I did today bye👋 I feel like this week was the first real week that I did for exhibition since I was absent the last week. It was a really busy week for me. I had to basically do the work of two weeks in one week. I had to choose my topic, start my research, write my guiding questions, choose my Central idea and lines of inquiry and start my website in the same week! Anyways, I think I got the work done pretty well. The only thing that I didn't accomplish this week is doing my first mentor meeting. I couldn't get it done because she was on camp that week. Overall, I think this week was a wonderful week and I hope I’ll get more done next week.
Today we discussed our assessment criteria in the morning. Assessment criteria is basically the things we will be graded on on our Exhibition Presentation. Here are some of the ideas that the class came up with: - Making our presentation appealing and appropriate to the audience _ Being an expert on your topic. - Giving true facts. - Making our presentation interesting and engaging. etc... Then, we had some time to do research. I feel like I did a lot of research and took a lot of notes. Here's one of the videos that I watched for my research. Later in the day, Mr. Heri came over and taught us about citing our sources. Here are the websites that He showed us: - easybib.com - zbib.org - bibme.org - citethisforme.com - citationmachine.net The one I decided to use is zbib.org because it was easier to use than the others. That's all for today! Bye! Today I worked on choosing my Central idea and Lines of inquiry. This is what I came up with:
Central Idea: Air pollution can affect communities. Lines of inquiry: 1. Our responsibilities to lessen air pollution. (Responsibility) 2. The causes of air pollution.(Causation) 3.how Air pollution is connected to our lives.(Connection) I had a bit of a hard time coming up with these but in the end, I did it. Then I brainstormed and wrote down some guiding questions to help me with what to research. Then I did some research on a few of them. I didn't get much research done about the questions, so I'll continue that tomorrow. Afterwards, I went to art and finished up my new logo for UNSDG goal, climate action. I'm pretty delighted with how it turned out. That's all I did for today!Bye! Today we discussed different ways we could present our exhibition. We discussed different kinds of presentations we could do like: -Ted Talks -Videos -Posters -Slideshows etc, ... We also watched a video about the big 6 to help with our reasearch. Then I chose my topic for the exhibition. At first, the topic I chose was climate change, however, that topic was too big of a topic for the exhibition. So, instead of that, I narrowed it down to air pollution. I'm pretty satisfied with the choice I made Afterwards, I jotted down down the keywords related to climate change cut them out, and sorted them into different groups. Then we went to Art. In art, I started to work on my artwork about UN sustainable development goals (UNSDG). Basically, I had to pick a UNSDG and paint a new logo for it. I picked climate action as my goal to redesign and I'm feeling pretty good about the design I picked. After art, I went and wrote some guiding questions for my exhibition. That's all I did for today, bye! This is the video about the big 6 we watched.
